Review | Swisse Hyaluro Natural Hydrating Face Mask

The Swisse Hyaluro Natural Hydrating face mask has a lot of controversy around it. There a people raving about it, and then there are people absolutely hating it. I need to know what’s going on as Swisse is in my good books 99.9% of the time. The Swisse Hyaluro Natural Hydrating face mask is said to be a deeply nourishing moisture treatment, delivering intense hydration to dry, stressed or irritated skin. Being that I have dry skin, I can really see if this mask will work as promised.

Key ingredients:

Senna Pant Extract: A natural botanical alternative to hyaluronic acid for intense moisturisation to smooth and plump the skin’s surface, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Soothing Fruit & Botanical Extracts: Unique skin-conditioning complex including blackcurrant seed oil, balloon vine extract and sunflower oil concentrate to protect and soothe irritated, inflamed and red skin.

Red Algae Extract: Smooths and softens the appearance of the skin.

Vitamin E: Assists in maintaining the skin barrier, protecting against environmental damage caused by free radicals.

Avocado Oil: Hydrates and softens the skin.

Design

The Hyaluro Natural Hydrating face mask comes in the same packaging as the Swisse Manuka Honey face mask. The little jar is adorable, it is easy to handle and fits perfectly in my grips. The jar holds 50 g / 1.76 oz. of product, enough for quite a few applications.

Formula

Upon opening the jar the mixture was creamy white, with the smell of roses. I decided to use a makeup brush for the application as I find this is the most efficient way to apply face masks. Dipping the brush into the jar I found the mask to be a soft creamy texture. Honestly, my thoughts were “this looks like cream mixed with glue”. The directions say to generously apply to clean skin, leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse. As soon as the brush touched my skin I felt a cooling sensation. I applied a generous amount to my entire face, it was vivid white in colour when on the skin.

While the mask drys I usually wash the brush, so I ran it under water for a couple of minutes trying remove all of the leftover mixture. I literally could not wash the brush, the water was not penetrating at all. Even using soap didn’t work. This may have something to do with the 7 different oils.

Removing the mask… this was a challenge! 15 minutes was up. At this point the mask had gone slightly transparent and my skin did already feel hydrated. BUT, rinsing off the mask was almost impossible to do! I had to resort to a wet towel to wipe the mask off, and do you think I could get it off the towel? This actually had me in a little laughing fit by the end.

Results

Considering the sticky situation I had myself in earlier, I was really happy with the end result. My skin felt soft and smooth, like a baby’s bottom. The dry flaky skin around my nose was no longer visible and didn’t have that yucky rough feel to it. It left my face with a natural hydrating glow, that also felt amazing.

Day two, still amazing. The results for me were more noticeable on the second day, possibly because it was day time and I was out in the beautiful natural light. I am definitely loving the feeling of this mask, it hydrates the skin well and is long-lasting.

Swisse Hyaluro Natural Hydrating Facial Mask

You can get your hands on this Swisse mask for as little as $15.99 AUD. I do recommend the Swisse hyaluro natural hydrating face mask purely on the final results. However, you will need to have a wet towel ready to remove the mask, and be prepared to wash the towel after every use. If you’re looking for a quick rinse, this isn’t the mask for you.
